Thermal performance of materials is carried out to determine the thermal conductivity (λ) and thermal resistance (R value). For most materials this is carried out in accordance with ASTM C518. In the case of insulation materials that require a declared R value and declared thermal conductivity this is carried out in accordance with AS/NZS 4859.1 / ASTM C518.
