A grading scheme based on the measurement of the performance of the fabrics provides users with a guide to likely performance when choosing a fabric. Standards Australia have issued the AS 2663 series detailing grading of fabrics for window furnishings.
Testing covered includes dimensional change, strength, resistance to UV light; and colourfastness properties. The permanence of applied coatings can be measured by comprehensive assessments after refurbishment treatments.
